The European VLBI Network (EVN) continues to showcase cutting-edge research through its online seminars. These sessions effectively highlight the impact of Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) across a wide range of scientific topics. In the second half of 2025, we hosted two exciting seminars:
• Miguel Pérez-Torres (IAA-CSIC) presented on Arp 299, exploring it as a “factory” of supernovae, normal active galactic nuclei, and tidal disruption events.
• Sandor Frey (Konkoly Observatory, HUN-REN Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences) discussed how VLBI and Gaia Astrometry are advancing our understanding of active galactic nuclei.
Over 90 attendees joined live, demonstrating strong interest in VLBI techniques and discoveries.
More generally, EVN seminar recordings available on YouTube have accumulated over 8,000 views, averaging ~400 views per seminar. This shows that these talks continue to provide value to researchers and enthusiasts long after the live sessions. Looking ahead, EVN seminars in 2026 will feature new scientific topics and provide both technical insights and a broader perspective on how VLBI remains a key player in astrophysics.
