ERIS 2024, Sep 30-Oct 4: a key platform for training new radio astronomers, with JIVE scientists mentoring participants in EVN data
ERIS 2024, the Tenth European Radio Interferometry School, concluded on Friday, October 4th, after a five-day program of engaging lectures and valuable tutorials.
ERIS is organised every two years and serves as a platform where new radio astronomers learn how to obtain and analyse data from radio interferometers. JIVE was very happy to co-organise this year’s event in Granada, Spain, alongside the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (IAA-CSIC).
JIVE scientists Zsolt Paragi, Benito Marcote, and Gabor Orosz introduced the European VLBI Network (EVN) and taught participants how to analyse data from these observations.
