===== Format of URL/URIs =====

When posting web links (URL/URIs) in the body of text, it is preferred to place the text inside of angle brackets inline with the text.  If the link is particularly long, it should be offset from the text as a block quote.  The following paragraphs show examples.

This is a paragraph of nonsense with an embedded link to Google's home page < http://www.google.com/ >.  You will note that it is a short link so it is left inline with the paragraph text.  Additionally, the link is placed in angle brackets.  If the link text is very long, it is preferred to offset the text onto a separate line, as if it were a block quote:

  http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:zhool8dxBV4J:www.google.com/+google&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1

This format allows for long links to be offset and line wrapped separately.  This wiki nicely separates/isolates the long URLs.  In Microsoft Word, one will probably have to manually indent the line *as well as* manually breaking the text of the link across multiple lines (or adjusting the hanging indent).

===== Images =====
  * PNG/JPG file types.  Remove layers, set background to white, remove transparency
  * as large as possible, each image should be sized for the width in px and cm for sheet on A4
  * 600 DPI should be target for most images
  * images should also be readable if converted to black and white- use textures and patterns

===== Colors =====
  * EXPReS logo blue - RGB 0/114/188, [[http://www.plstores.com/pms_color_chart.html|PMS 300]] or closest approximation
  * EXPReS logo yellow - RGB 255/255/0, [[http://www.plstores.com/pms_color_chart.html|PMS 102]] or closest approximation 
  * blue1 for charts/diagrams - Microsoft "Pale Blue" (RGB 153/204/255)

Two spaces after the ending period of a sentence.  






===== British English is preferred (but American English is used by the person who actually ends up controlling the documents) =====
We are not religious about it (or anything) but switch your spell checker to UK if you want to speak EC lingo (if your science centre
wants to formalise its participation in this programme) ;-)

-- are we using 1,234.56 EUR or 9.876,54 EUR format?  

-- switching to Brit English is nice in theory, but most of you only want to switch spelling which just makes the document inconsistent and wrong.
