====== Description of the NEXPReS Mailing Lists ======

This letter is to be printed and distributed during the Board meeting



Board Members,

as you know, NEXPReS uses a variety of mailing lists to communicate with our project members.  Would you please take a moment to review the mailing lists to make sure the appropriate individuals from your institute are associated with the correct list.  Below I provide a summary of the lists in use, a quick description of how we use them and lastly the members of each mailing list (retrieved 16 Aug 2010).  Please contact me with any changes/modifications that you may desire.

Currently, NEXPReS has five mailing lists in use.  They are listed and described below:

  * nexpres-activity
    * Each of the 8 activity leaders, the project assistant and the project coordinator
  * nexpres-announce
    * A general announcement list.  This is designed for internal project announcements (e.g., all hands meeting, successful completion of review) and note outwardly visible events (e.g., press releases, etc)
  * nexpres-board
    * The official board member for each of the 15 partners, when requested additional addresses are included on behalf of the board member (e.g., secretary, proxy).  
  * nexpres-financials
    * Institutes may have an individual who is responsible for financial activities.  This list is used for general announcemets such as pending delivery of funds, requests for audits, etc.  The names from this list are used individually when there is a specific question that needs to be directed to an institute (in these cases, always with a CC to the board member).
